Ravichandran Ashwin has been the best right arm off-spinner after Harbhajan Singh India has produced. But does India have enough resources to fill in his position after he retires after a few years is a question that needs to have a look at? There has been the emergence of good left-arm orthodox in recent times but right arm off-spin is an area that needs to have a good look.
Jayant Yadav has been in the reckoning for the Indian for quite a few years but he too does not have a good number of years left.

Lack of skill ?
Junior level is the place where every cricketer emerges and gets his basic right. But with the emergence of T20 cricket are many not ready to take up off-spin? Let's take the case of U19 WC as well where Washington Sundar was the last recognized allrounder in 2016 who played for India.
With the emergence of wrist spin slowly many players at a young age, I think do not want to take up off-spin as not much is being offered to them in terms of conditions and ground dimensions.
Not many players are now flighting the ball which was once considered an art-making the batters play forward. But now how many players do we see flighting the ball up? Not many to be honest. With the advent of T20 cricket, the ground dimensions are reduced to make it entertaining which is understood but it is making one end of players lose their confidence.
There are many left-arm orthodox making their mark in both List A and FC cricket. To name a few Jadeja, Axar Patel, Saurabh Kumar, etc have been ruling this division for quite a long time. Having a right and left-arm spin bowling in tandem makes a team more lethal as is the case with India.
Going into the domestic circuit not many pitches are evenly balanced for both batting and bowling making bowlers only defend rather than attacking the stumps. Batters have all the advantages they need having good bats with wider edges, shorter boundaries, good batting pitches but it is the bowlers who are always at the receiving end.
So we need to quickly look into a good option who is going to be India's next off-spinner after Bhajji and Ashwin.
True. As of now we are not seeing any right arm off-spinner in the league of Harbhajan or Ashwin. Washington Sundar too is primarily a batter and may not be able to make it purely as a bowler. Due to T20, definitely wrist spin is gaining popularity. However, in test cricket wrist spin (leg spin) looks to have become extinct.
