This has been the best start for the Tamil Talaivas since they started playing from season 5. This is the style of play the fans were waiting to witness all these years but went disappointed. But this year it looks like a revamped side with many youngsters wanting to prove them is what makes this team special in Pro Kabaddi season 8.
Raiding.
With the main raider Prapanjan not performing to his ability he has been warming the bench for the last 2 games which seems to be worrying if you are a fan of Tamil Talaivas. He was bought in the auction for 75 lakhs and putting him in the primary raider spot but none of the matches in which he played were promising.
Manjeet, on the other hand, looks bright in the 1st half bagging bulk of the points and when the game enters into the 2nd half his performance starts to dip thereby slowing down the raid points. When it comes to super tackle situations he crumbles thereby denying an all-out and the opposition gets back to track slowly. This is the area where Manjeeth needs to work on.
Ajinkya Pawar has been assigned the role of Do or Die specialist coming in as a substitute and winning crucial points. One change Udhaya Kumar can make is to bring in Pawar and put Bhavani Rajput on the bench which will make the raiding department more versatile and strong. Bhavani Rajput hasn't done much to show his name.
Defense.
One of the best defending sides in this PKL edition undoubtedly. With inexperienced defenders, many thought that this team will crumble in the defense but vice versa of that has happened. With the likes of Sagar and Surjeeth, the team has performed very well putting in tackles when required and performing super tackles to perfection.
Mohit and Sahil can improve more as the season goes by. Mohit in particular puts in advanced tackles unnecessarily which he needs to work on.
Overall as a Tamil Talaivas fan, this is the start that any fan would have wanted, and as the season progress will have plenty to cheer about.
